In order to facilitate domestic applicants to submit Madrid international registration applications and expand the scope of international registration of domestic goods (services) trademarks, CNIPA and the WIPO have discussed, studied and promoted the translation of Chinese domestic goods and services into Madrid since 2018. Acceptable goods matters for international registration.
In September 2018, CNIPA submitted the first batch of 1950 domestic goods/services drafted to WIPO. After multiple reviews and revisions, in August 2020,WIPO passed the translation review and classification review of 1,303 goods/services. And 1002 of them were added to the Madrid Goods and Services Database.
